My long-term plan is the floor drain I mentioned as a backup, along with a pan under the washing machine and one of those water sensor emergency shutoffs. In combination, those three should prevent a future flood from ever escaping the laundry room. I've let this project get put on the back burner for a long time, but I think it's time to make it a priority.
